OUR STORY

Born of one man’s dream, Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage has a strong, spirited, sustainable mission: Provide high-quality care and love to orphan or vulnerable children, and if possible, find each child a loving forever family. We strive to stabilize and provide hope for orphaned and underprivileged children.

Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage founder and CEO, Eric Idehen, is a native of Nigeria, and has long cherished the dream of providing assistance to local children in need of loving families. After a journey that took him around the world, from Nigeria to Ukraine and Spain, Eric eventually settled in the United States and founded the Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage in 2006.

The original orphanage is located in Benin City, Nigeria.  As of 2012, there is also a second orphanage in Pujehun, Sierra Leone to serve the children in that region as well. Each location is devoted to transforming children’s lives.

Today, Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage in Benin City can provide a safe and loving shelter for 50 children and  Pujehun is equipped to serve 20 children.  Both in the U.S. and abroad; volunteers, families, and community leaders work tirelessly towards maintaining and growing Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage. The mission to provide a high quality of life and promising future to each child at the Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage continues to be the number one priority.
