Dr. Gretchen Jackson-Odion is a Professor at Houston Community College where she has taught United States and African American History for over 25 years. 

 

Gretchen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History  and a Master of Arts degree in Social Science (History)  from Southern  A & M University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Gretchen’s love and passion for teaching led her to earn a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies with an emphasis in social, historical and cultural foundations from the University of Houston.

 

Gretchen’s professional affiliations include membership in the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, Organization of American Historians, Phi Delta Kappa, and Texas Community College Teachers Association.
